Cercospora Leaf Spot
Symptom
The leaf lesions caused by this disease are characterized by concentric rings in rust or brown color, with a grayish center, resembling a frog's eye—hence the name "frog-eye spot." As the disease progresses, these lesions may coalesce, causing the leaves to turn yellow, wither, and fall prematurely. Severe leaf drop can significantly reduce fruit yield. On stems, petioles, and fruits, the lesions appear elliptical or oval in shape, with dark margins and light gray centers. In severe cases, the infection may lead to pedicel rot.
